Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the firm said: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an investigation into reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at women.

The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books altogether, including a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
