Edwards and O'Neil Among Wolves Head Coach Candidates

Rob Edwards and O'Neil are two of the initial candidates under consideration to replace Vitor Pereira as head coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The previous coach was dismissed on Sunday following the team's ten-game winless start to the Premier League season.

And both candidates - both of who have previous associations to the club - are part of the options to be considered by the club ownership.

The manager is presently at another club, which would create a potential obstacle to his hiring at Wolves' stadium.

However the former Luton head coach - who made over a century of appearances for Wolves during his playing career - is said to be a leading candidate for the position.

The mid-career manager is said to have support from the club board as they start the search of appointing a fresh head coach.

O'Neil is additionally appearing as a surprise contender, even though he would be a shock appointment given he was sacked by the club in the previous winter.

The former West Ham United player is currently unemployed which means the club would not be required to pay any buyout fee.
