Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Claims Connected to Player Rashee Rice

The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in online accounts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the league office.

The organization did not mention the player by name in their statement and stated they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Claims Posted on Instagram

The woman, who likewise did not name Rice by name, posted a set of images on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.

Police Reports Reportedly Not on File

No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.

Player's Recent Legal Issues

The receiver was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people injured. Rice was sentenced a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.

Statistically, Rice concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
