Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos announced on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital arrives after the sports world had expressed condolences for the star in the following the heartbreaking incident.
